Heritage Lincolnshire receives CPRE award for Building Conservation Project

The Lincolnshire branch of the Campaign the Protect Rural England has recently presented Heritage Lincolnshire with an award in recognition of their achievement in the conservation and repair of 7-13 Bridge Street in Horncastle.

The Lincolnshire branch of the Campaign the Protect Rural England has recently presented Heritage Lincolnshire with an award in recognition of their achievement  in the conservation and repair of 7-13 Bridge Street in Horncastle.

The award scheme, launched in 2008, selected the project based on criteria which included respect for the integrity of an original historic building, use of traditional materials and quality detailing, and rescuing a building formerly at risk. The scheme in Bridge Street was also applauded for the quality of the new design elements, which were distinctive, sustainable and of our time.

David Start, Director of Heritage Lincolnshire, attended the presentation ceremony at the buildings in Bridge Street to accept the award on behalf of the Trust and the professional team who worked on the project.

The project was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the European Regional Development Fund, with contributions from the Architectural Heritage Fund and East Lindsey District Council. The building is now owned and managed by the Lincolnshire Community Foundation.

David Start accepts the award from John Rose, Chairman of the Lincolnshire CPRE
