Tupholme Abbey For over 370 years during the medieval period Tupholme Abbey near Bardney was home to a community of Premonstratensian canons. Only a fragment of the original buildings survives, but this education pack shows how evidence can be gathered together from many different sources to reconstruct Tupholme Abbey and show what it might once have looked like.
It describes the life of the canons who lived there and shows how the story of the abbey has been shaped by history over the centuries. A section entitled Educational Approaches suggests ways of using studies of Tupholme in the National Curriculum. |
